FINAL UPDATE on Posters!!! Posters are done and the new Poster Pic (best I could do with my camera for now) is on my web site at www.turbograndprix.com. Compare the lower/original ?Grand Prix? Poster to the top/newer ?Turbo Grand Prix? Poster. You will note the colors are more true, vivid and more life-like, the poster turned out so much better than expected (and my camera could capture), electronic imaging can work miracles. So before too many people get going on me, I am tied up with commitments for the next 2 weeks, and the last week in May I will be out of contact with my work so the first of June/June 4th I will be ready to take orders and ship out posters!!
I ended up doing 2 runs on these posters, after the first run, the print shop manager was so excited how well they turned out he wanted to bump up the poster and run it on their UV press, why not so I now have 2 versions. The first run is beautiful and far better than the original but since the UV took it up another notch or two, the first run posters will be given away with large purchases such as Pipe and Chip orders combined (or in return for other things ) . The UV posters will be the ones for sale, but read on below for more details on how these posters turned out, by the way, the retail price for both runs was over $5,000, that?s right, 5 grand so I would like to sell a few of these soon, not surprising, but will more than likely just end up owing the owner of the print shop some more work to his many possessions (new LS430, New SL500, New H2, hard to pick which one to drive, but no sympathy for him, lots of houses and boats etc, tough life but he earned it!!!), but I guess it won't be too bad of work for me .
The first run poster is far better than the original with much more detailing and color accuracy, paper is pure white heavy gauge and will hold firm/flat when hung by itself on a wall or inside a frame. This poster also has the aqueous coating to make it tougher at enduring the elements and aging! Same as below the making of the poster into a ?Turbo? Grand Prix worked out better with the new Font Style that more matches the same Font Style of the ?TURBO? on our vehicle?s door and rear emblems, and does not look like a fat felt marker as the original did.
The second run was done on a UV Press, the best press for posters and most any very highly detailed large size prints. These are made of a higher grade pure white paper that will not take a roll memory, meaning once you receive the poster, it will roll out flat and not be curled at all!! The paper finish also has an aqueous coating that makes it impervious to moisture splashes, and provides for a smooth and lustrous finish over the sharp colors, and in combating the effects of aging. And of course the making of the poster into a ?Turbo? Grand Prix worked out better with the new Font Style that more matches the same Font Style of the ?TURBO? on our vehicle?s door and rear emblems, and does not look like a fat felt marker as the original did. This poster is made a little larger to allow cutting and fitting into frames, but will work out-of-frame as well.
Later this year I will be visiting McLaren and will talk to Wiley McCoy for signatured posters, those emailing me please indicate poster with or without signature!
I have secured Heavy-Grade Poster Tubes for safe shipping of these posters, they ran $5 each but are worth the insurance of no shipping damage!! Shipping is a flat rate of $5. Poster is going to be $20, so total is all of $30 for now, more once I finish the orders from members here, then onto eBay to let everyone else fight it out but will more than likely have a minimum/reserve-whatever of $30.
Please email me through the turbograndprix web site with your real name, and address so I can get everyone in order and lined up for funds and shipping. I will take Cashiers Check or Money Orders only, if that is a problem then PayPal but you have to pay their fee of 3.5% onto $30 (a big $1.05 more).
Talk to all those interested soon, and look forward to hearing more people enjoying these posters, it was a lot of investment but it?s the only real item for the owner (other than the car) to show off or enjoy looking at when not driving or washing/waxing, tuning etc !!
