Anyone ever made costom ones for their car. How much did they cost and where?
Like I said in a thread before, the idea of headers isn't really feasible. You could maybe have some sort of custom manifolds built, but there isn't much use for headers on a Turbo Engine.
Custom tubular manfolds will be a good addition to ported Gen III heads and upgraded turbo.
You may want to consider Porting the stock manifolds, that will increase flow. but i guess the stock heads are horible for flow so that will be a must if you plan on upgrading to custom tubular headers and larger turbo.

the motors going to be rebuilt, and if at all possible have them go on before it's put in. as for now it's sitting in the garage floor so getting them off is cake.

I am going to sag my subframe and see if i can get my rear man out...

Yea I got mods, Ported heads but the 2nd gen ones. If these heads don't give me gains, then out with them and on come the max ported 3rd gen ones. Seems like those stock manafolds are realy making the palses crash against the wall of the manafold and slowing them down.
I'd like to see some pics of these tubular manifolds. They sound interesting. :) Do they still collect in the stock (or Jeff M) crossover pipe? Or do they collect right at the turbo?

Who said they had some? Where?....me no see ....
My bad..Shane mentioned something about it, but I guess nobody's got em. Too bad he won't be on for a while..he could've probably come up with something.
here's a set that was use in a fiero with a 3.4 DOHC motor, they were made by steve hamm. they aren't equal length, but they look nice! :D

you'll have to copy and paste.
Yes, they do look nice. I guess I will have to visit the fiero forums and see what I can find out about them. :D
already looked into getting "fiero Store" headers, they will not fit our 3.1 (gen II) they fit the Gen I cast iorn heads.

How different were the Gen II heads from the Gen I heads? The GEN II heads were introduced in 1987, but I'm not sure if any of the fiero models got them in 87 or 88. I thought that the 88 GT/Formula Fieros used Gen II heads...but maybe they didn't.
At any rate, there is a place that makes custom Fiero headers, and if the heads aren't that much different, they could maybe modify a set. :D
Funny thing is I had looked at the STOCK fiero headers (if they can be called headers) as a swap. Nope , They are too thin and they have the crappy LOG desighn. I think Curtis(TurboZ24)had fiero store headers ,,,they had leak problems on the turbo engine. But they were mild steel and not stainless steel.
Seems like everywhere I look is eather swap to cast iron or get 3rd gen heads , but STEP AWAY FROM THE 2nd gen heads.
I talked to the company that makes performance Fiero headers, and they said that they won't work on our cars because of the EGR valve...and because the rear manifold on our engine is actually 2 pieces... :? They didn't mention anything about the heads being a part of the problem.
Alright..I found out that the bolts on fiero heads/headers are 3/16" off compared to the GEN II heads. :D Those can be drilled out easily..or relocated. It's not that big of a difference. :D Next hurdle to clear is finding out if the flanges are the same size. If they are..then the last hurdle is positioning them correctly..which will be difficult.
