Title: Need HELP ASAP! See Pic!
Post by: 90TGPGirl on May 15, 2003, 12:03:27 PM
My TGP is almost done...I have a question that I need help on ASAP!

Is there a baffle or hose of some sort that goes from the tranny cooler to that opening right in front of the condenser??  See the pic below.

Okay that link didn't work. I'll try and describe what I'm talking about here.

Right in front of the trans cooler, there is a round opening. Then in front of the condenser, there is another round opening the same size. Does a hose or something connect those two holes?? It looks like something is suppose to be there, unless they are just vent holes for air circulation. But anyhow, if there is a piece that goes there, I NEED IT so my car can be finished!!

Underneath the bumper?  Sounds like its just the air intake hose for the engine compartment, but show us a pic if ya got one.

Yes a ducting hose goes from the area in front of the radiatior to the trans cooler on the passenger side.  Can't go look at it for a further description right now.

The opening in the front of the tranny cooler housing, I found a diagram of this, and it shows a hose going from that opening to another opening on the passenger side of the condenser.

there is a air duct thar runs from the bumper to the tranny cooler. it provides airflow for the tranny cooler to cool it and make it work efficently. measure the OD of the opening and go to home depot and find some "Dryer" hose and plumb it.

Here is a picture of what I'm talking about.  Something doesn't seem right here.  Does a hose connect the 2 openings shown in the pic?  I would think that would defeat the purpose of the tranny cooler...how would air get to it??  Did they mount that piece in front of the condenser in the wrong place???  please help!

it will be fine. you should be able to jack one side of the car up to get under it. there is no spash guard to remove (atleast not on my car) so it should be easy to install.
