Title: oil pressure gauge problem

when I'm at idle or deceleration the needle jumps around alot! from 19 to 45 to 80  all over the place.
any ideas

I don't know why it started doing that, but mine does same thing, has for a couple of years now. just part of the pontiac charm!

Every GP I've ever seen short of my current TGP has done this. I'm actually surprised that the TGP's cluster is working perfectly.

Hi   just adding my 2 cents...mine does not jump around, however it does respond to any engine speed accurately.

When the senders start going bad, they will be jumpy. They can be that way for a long time before, if ever, they crap out.
