Title: My filter is melting.. it's melting!
Post by: R Dubya on June 26, 2003, 01:40:32 PM
Yo guys, anyone have a problem with the cone filter?  It's hot as all hell under that hood of mine and seemed to destroy my filter in a hurry.  I bought a replacement, but I'm concerned that I might be wasting my money.  Anyone else have this problem?

The local performance shop has those intakes sitting on the wall, only problem is I don't know if I wanna axe the A/C yet, it still works pretty well, and I don't think the intake  will fit without taking it out.

Yeah, I had about the same problem.  So I just clamped my cone on the end of the stock hose for now.  I still have most of the gain with it this way as I did when it was clamped right on the turbo.

I tried that and it worked until the car got hot.  There isn't much room except for right on top of the manifold.     Then it just wouldn't go.  Hehe
