Title: topgun overboost? / I'm dynoing my car today!
Post by: marcus18 on June 30, 2003, 08:16:25 AM
I had two friends in back and I'm at the light. it turns green and I floor it(they had just got in the car for the first time so I had to show them what the car was made of   ) the boost built past the 15 mark on the stock gauge(I know it's not right) higher that ever before and then power cut out until I let off. first off this is wierd considering I have a apc filter attached to the turbo-air box hose. I figured it wouldn't have enough flow for that. any thoughts?

I'm hoping to have it dynoed today I'll post results later.
hope for the most!

If you are using the stock hose, its is possible for it to get sucked shut. Its not the chip, its the hose you are using. Even with a better filter the hose itself can't flow enough air to stay open.

I've experimented with this before. Either get a hard pipe or put it right on the turbo.

What he said. Or you can have a bad vacuum hose like I did. I had a bad vacuum hose that caused my over boost, had it replaced, fixed.
