I was wondering if there was someting similar to the Auto-tap scanner for pre-ODBII systems? Something that you can leave scanning while you make a pass at the track. :D
the closest thing I found was Diacom from Rhinda Technoligies 773-736-6633
ChEM .... hehehe It's actually for turbo dodge guys, but with a little inginuity and the same RS232 interface, it should work just fine. Most of the variables are similar in the pre-OBD cars. There are also a few for the DSM guys, that work off the OBDI signal, which isn't the TGP OBDI anyhow?
OBDI really didn't exist before OBD II.
OBDI was barely standardized within a make, and not standardized at all between makes. When OBDII came out, pre OBD II was referred to as OBD I. I believe but I'm not sure that the government may have said something about having a code storage system for cars, but considering what I've seen it was a very loose regulation at best.
OBDII Started government mandate numeric code structuring and definitions. An OBDII scanner can scan any 96 and newer made for USA car for codes. This isn't so for older cars.

So the autotap won't work on our cars? :(
