Yeah, kind of a newb question but what exactly does a MAP sensor do?

MAP = Manifold Absolute Pressure.

It takes the place of a mass air flow sensor. By reading the pressure inside the intake, it determins how much air is entering the einge, and how much fuel will be needed.
