For pistons I would go with stock Mahle pistons. If shops can't find them then tell them for a 94 3.1. they also have them. Smoth them out for any sharp and rough spots.

Total seal Custom moly rings.

Stock TGP oil pump replacement.

Heads: Port exhaust ports, smoth out chambers. Comp cams roller rockers.

Felpro gaskets and head gaskets KS 2654. Lower intake gasket Felpro MS 96041. For upper intake..I think the paper ones are better than ruber/steel.

TUrbo: Search forum for recomended places. If your a good DIYer..hit ebay for rebuild kit. Get rebuild manuals.

Other highly recomended things. Jeff M. x-over, comes with oil return line I think. Driabilyty chip if you want to just restore it. Top gun chip if you want power.

New vacume lines, water hoses, belt, timming set, FFP Dog bone mounts, New engine mounts.

Have trans inspected while engine is out.

The only good way of weight reduction is removing noise insulation, 3in Aluminum exhaust pipes with no mufflers. I wouln't recoment fiber glass hood. It already has traction issues to begin with up front.

Am I missing something...
