I didnt think it would go for that much, I think its a bit high.

There are a couple more an STE turbo and another TGP with about 30k miles.

I don't think its high.  No matter the problems people have the cars cost form $20-25K brand new.

$2500-$3500 is about average for a good looking running TGP. The one with 30K would be worth $6500-$7500 IMO. Depends on how it runs and drives... 8)

So if I pick one up for $500 I dont have to do anything it it and turn it around for $1500, an easy grand profit?

Alot of the ones I have seen are at the end of their life cycle and need a whole frame up restoration.  I'm sure the one that went for $3200 was no cream puff.  But hey they are getting rarer every day, low supply and high demand dictates the price right?

Dont get mad about what I'm saying, I am talking about thrashed beaters not your cars.  I would never let a car such as one of these go to scheit like other people have.

But it did NOT sell for $3200!  The high bidder Coldgorkyhell (-1) still owes $4500 on a 79 Trans Am!

Looking at the bidding history, it looks more like that TGP sold for $1000 to haywire4130 (97)
since he is the only real bidder with *ANY* positive feedback!

Thus the trend of TGPs having no re-sale value continues!

Yeah. I have proven that  one can increase the value of their car $500 to $1000 by simply giving it 3 hours of cleaning. Making it LOOK nice is 90% of trying to sell it. Simple but true!

actually thats not in to bad a shape!  Mine was $2400 <------!!!!  They painted those mounts probably because they were rusted.  If you got a drill and wire wheel its on.  I just went in and polished everything metal then painted with 500deg clear coat to retain the polish.

hey guys, i'm the one that won this car the second time. That engine bay isn't as bad as the pictures make it look, a little degreaser and TLC and it'll be shining again nicely :)
