Well, the wait is over, I put new injectors (well, old but known good from a 3800S2) I threw everything back together and I couldn't get the battery to accept a charge. I took the battery to a local parts store had it charged and tested and put it in. It took a second but fired up. I let it learn an idle, then took it out for some fun (but not alot, no insurance till tomorrow) Lit 'em up all through first and second. My boost problem is now gone. I am making some aluminum rail mounts at accomodate the shorter Accel injectors, and newer GM injectors (which will be for sale in awhile) but I think my DSM BOV is leaking at high boost ~10-11 psi. Because I hear two different sounds up there. I also hear a hiss at my feet WTF? I fear it may be a line that is leaking but only at high boost levels. I don't know or care (yet) it's damn fast and can't wait to make it faster. I so badly want to remove the TGP emblems so that stupid people bet bitch slapped proper like, but I think I am too proud of the heritage for that. Any input is welcome, glad to finally drive it.
Glad to hear "it's alive" When are you going to post some pictures on your web site?
I've been bugging the ol' lady to grab the dig. camera from her parents. (Her dad is the type to buy all new cool stuff, where I just want one of those damn Barbie $7 jobs) As soon as that happens (she says tomorrow night) pics should be up on Wednesday night. I am not going to touch the look of it until I get these pics. The only thing I have done is remove all the Accel, Auto Meter, and JL Audio stickers. The only one's left are Grand Prix in white on the windshield, and a big ass Pontiac emblem on the rear windshield. On the rear windows there is a "Turbo Inside" w/ the swoosh around it (like Intel Inside) sticker. I am debating whether to leave that or not. I would prefer "Boost Inside" if anything. I took a few ricer kids that work at the d-ship I used to work at for a ride today and they were amazed. I noticed I have a little lag way up high, feels almost like a fuel shut-off, or maybe a boost limiter. I also demolished the pressure power steering hose today. Now I have PS fluid everywhere, on the windshield, the fender, hood, all over underhood, it was kind enough to use the little grate under the louvre to spray it everywhere.
if the rubber shield is not covering your steering assembly at the bottom it will hissss!
