Got one for free, has any one installed this style? I have not yet seen any good detailed pictures of  an install.  Anyone know where to look ?

A BOV from a 98 DSM would be a Gen II (maybe even Gen III) BOV. I am almost positive that Kenny and 1truecavalier both installed Gen I BOVs. I know 1truecavilier did...just by looking at his pics. I don't know what a Gen II valve consists of, but I assume you would need the mounting flange to mount it to one of the intake pipes. Personally, I'd get a Gen I valve off ebay, but you can try to make that one work. This site has somewhat detailed instructions on a BOV install. www.turboste.com

the 98 is plastic correct? it is prone to leaking boost i believe.  I have one off a 90 Laser.  You can make any bov work on any car.

The 2nd gen T/E/L BOV is a plastic unit that is VERY prone to leaking. It could work for now, but as soon as you have the opportunity to upgrade to the 1st gen, or to an aftermarket, do it. All the 2nd gen's I have worked on over 30,000 miles had leaky BOV's.
