True..he does make a decent differential. It's better than the INTENSE differential that's out there. But it still uses clutchpacks :( :(

I want one like this:

I haven't started looking yet..but there's gotta be something out there...somewhere that's similar..or at least someone that could make it work.

yes quaife is like premier in LSD with the exception of  :D torsen :D , the price of that quaife far exceeds most of our budgets.  $300-5 is at least doable.

Yes, but with the quaife there is nothing I will have to replace down the road. As much as I'm going to drive/drag the car, I should never have to worry about ripping the tranny apart again. That's well worth the extra $$$..at least to me :D Just wish I could find one for the 4T60 :( It is nice to know that pontiacjeff's differential is there though...in the likely event that I never find a quaife for my car
Title: why not quicker

One of those links for LSD showed the 60 times improving from
somthing like 2.4 to 2 sec. I would have thought with twice the traction,
there would have been more dramatic. Anybody know why?

Dropping 4 tenths is pretty good.

Consider under ideal conditions, the wheels are putting the traction to the ground equally with an open. The LSD counters the slight effects of torque steer lifting one wheel and losing a little traction on that wheel.

As far as durability, when properly cared for the clutch type LSD can go for a long time. I know of one turbo buick who has over 100k miles on his and he drags it in the 12's constantly.

PLEASE NOTE: The 60' times dropped .04 seconds on average NOT .4 seconds.

Title: pre load
Post by: florida_tgp on September 15, 2003, 08:02:52 PM
Some the links directly critisize the intense LSD, says
it needs pre-loading to work. Will the intense LSD help
on turns, on rolling starts, wet roads? I know of you
guys out there have gtps as well. anybody have intense LSD.
