Title: Power pneumatic seat controls, console area
Post by: TGPRobNY on September 11, 2003, 06:57:06 PM
Both seats have the same problem. When any of the console area seat controls are actuated you can hear a solenoid kick in for a second, then it dies, and therefore no seat action (lumbar, sides, thigh supports will not work). They were working at one time and the seats in these are are very cool when working. Any ideas where to start looking? Thanks, Rob

When you push on the control and the solenoid clicks, let up just a tiny bit on the control and see if it works. Some of mine do that. If I push all the way they won't work.

I posted a fix for this awhile back. Look at the console lid hinge and you'll see the wires for the seat controls. 98% chance the wires have a kink in them right there. It's from the console being opened and closed over the years. Eventually the wires start breaking off inside the insulation. Cut the wires and splice them back together with butt connectors.
