I need to buy a new alternator for the TGP. I've heard good things about the Iceberg 140amp Alternators. I've seen some info about kits but i don't really know enough about alternators to know what all the technical terms mean that come with the kit. By upgrade kit does it really mean that it upgrades the alternator already in the car? or does it mean that it us an upgraded version of what would otherwise be in the car after you replace it. What Alts have you guys used?
An upgrade kit includes everything to turn your existing alt. into a 140 amp alt.
I use the remanufactured AC Delco alt.'s and have good luck with them.
I have a local Alternator shop called Short Circuit do mine. He rewrapped mine to 120amp for $60 and also did the rebuild.
