I got a bad leak on my exhaust manifold...
and I waz just wondering, how much do they usually run...
and wherez a good place to by one from, being that I can't just go to tha local Auto Zone...
? Is it the exhaust mani or is it the crossover pipe?
The cross over you would want to order one from Jeff M.
He makes a very good replacement.

Yeah I think its tha crossover pipe...
IF it is, Then you can get Jeff M's crossover. Or if you want to risk another failure in it take it to your local exhaust shop and have them reweld the bellows. Though some times this holds and most of the time it will fail again. Go with Jeff's cross over pipe. Well worth the money.

Well right now I'm just try'na fix my car so that it could run like it use't to...
so I ain't try'na spend 400 dollars...
by I'm deffinetly gonna' get that in tha future when my carz runnin' fast again...
-
so I'm gonna' go with tha welding...
I know a good welder so I might get it done for no price...
but yeah, would a couple leaks on that cause high amount of power loss...
cause right now my car iz way way way way slower then it use't to be...
I would think that would be tha problem, but with that amount of power loss...
what else iz common to happen to TGP's...
And how do I fix it...
-
no1 seemz to know whats wrong with my car...
It will cause power loss. You can check out Chris A web site. www.turbogpgarage.com
He has alot of the common problems with these cars. as well as
www.w-body.com has alot of info on the problems.
Just a few to check
Cat they get plugged.
All vacums lines.
O2 sensors, all senors should be checked.
Make sure all you piping for the turbo is on and not leaking.
There is alot more. Its kind of a process of elination.
hope that helps.

go to jcwhitney and order some 1 3/4 flex couplings for $40 total and get an local exhaust shop to weld them on. same as with jeff m.
make sure you get the 8" total length
There is a big difference between the JC whitney joints and the ones Jeff uses. Similar idea, but made differently.
I am sure he gets some type of special units because finding some that small is almost impossible. I checked everywhere and jcwhitney was the only company who had them. I do suggest if you have the money to get jeffs and call it a day but for people like me $400 and core is just out of the question, especially if I need his chip also for another $300.
I drove for 5 hours just to get two flex's to fix mine....
Thanx for all your help...
I ended up going and buying tha JCW catolog, and order to flex joints...
I should have them in 3 dayz or so...
-
thanx for your help...
by tha way...
haz anyone ever used the JCW flex joints...
and if so, how did they do...
I'm just wonderin'...
Personally, I dont know Jeff, but I want a new crossover pipe, along with a new egr tube also, which IS leaking. Why would I pay for this? I am an auto tech, and I do not have the time nor the interest to do a mod that I can buy, it is people like Jeff that keep ingenuity and creativity, and the desire to do so, fresh in the "non factory" marketplace. I will always contribute where I can, just to keep the world going around. Oh yeah, why do people shop at 7-11 when the grocery store is cheaper??? ITS CALLED convenience!
And my fav motto as an auto tech, TIME IS MONEY!
I hear ya Dot, time is money. But money isn't always time.
Maj, you seem to talk in rythym, different.
