Title: 120000mile performance rebuild
Post by: m6amba on October 04, 2003, 07:58:48 PM
ok...i bought my car over a yr ago and wrecked it about 2 months ago but i got it fixed and back on the rd   however it sat for almost 2 months while i was fixing it( i started it and ran it but could nt move it since the suspension was broken)  well i was on my way home from the races last thusday night and heard a noise up front popped the hood and concluded that it came from the front of the engine so i drove home  went to wrk the next day and parked it when i got home  next day i fired it up for my dad to hear  he said put it in the garge so we started tearin it apart to see what was wrong well............we got the front head off and have determined that it is down in the cylinder under the piston so the engine has to come out to fix that  so while i have it out im gonna do a performance rebuild on it to revive the old lady : thinkin def. valve springs, gaskets, connecting rods, valves, and such anybody have any ideas on what all i should do to it ( thinkin it has to be strong enuf to handle over 350hp) cause once i get that done im gonna get a t3-t4 hybrid turbo so i want to prepare it lol

Do the tired and true basics.  Strengthen it & reduce friction.

Some web sites that may help:
http://www.engine-parts.com/GMV6/gm28stroker.html
http://members.rogers.com/derek.beland/Tech.htm
http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/  ** cant beat their prices anywhere!!!

Good luck - w-body.com may have some info also.
