Post by: masarik70 on October 29, 2003, 09:32:34 PM
well i bought the 90 tgp. red with the leather. the only problem it has to my knowledge is a bad master cylinder. found one at salvage yard for $35. Dealer wanted $1500. Wow! Now, i need to go totally through the brakes and make sure thats it. Lets hope so...

Congrats on the TGP purchase and the master cylinder find.  The brakes have a few areas to look for, like warped front rotors caused by the 2nd problem which is seized/corroded rear sleeves.  Look for a leaky rear proportioning valve or splitter (forget which), if you here the pressure pump run about everytime you push the pedal it probably needs a fresh charge of Nitrogen in the Accumulator, and the Master Cyl eventually leak and or stop working properly.  Check for codes.  Wow, I almost sounded like I knew what I was talking about.    Welcome

Guess the j/y didn't know what they were looking for.  :(    The core is worth $100.00. Looks like Prior is going to get more business. Hope you get it sorted out.

Congrats on the purchase. It's a fun car.
