How much are you looking to spend. Have you done a search of the message board to see if anyone has one or suggestions?

OMG :!: My fault...everybody and their mother has had problems with the master cylinder. Geesh, boy, when i bought the car for 800 i thought that it was a deal. The only thing wrong with it is the master cylinder. With the reoccurance of the problems with the pmIII it seems inevitably worth it to change over to manual brakes. From the information gained Pontiac should of really thought about recalling the PMIII when they switched to the non integrated abs system in 91.

Yeah you'd think that it would be a safety issue worth notifying people of.

You know guys, it is possible to file a class action lawsuit.  And I strongly believe we would succeed.  GM already settled a case filed for the W-body rear brakes to the tune of $19.5 million!!!    They wouldn't issue a recall nor reimburse people for all their constant brake repairs in the past, so a group of people got together and filed a lawsuit, and GM settled out of court.  The settlement called for reimbursement of all past brake repairs up to the last 5 years and any repairs that would be needed up to the deadline date (sorry guys, that expired a long time ago  ).  But needless to say, it is heartening to see that something can be done about big corporations thinking they don't have to be responsible for faulty products.

If they're willing to back it up for 6 months, that's a pretty good deal.  However, I would find out what your options are if it doesn't make it to six months.  Are they giving you your money back, or credit to the junkyard?  Because the chances of another PMIII system waiting there for you are slim to none, so you don't want to have your money tied up in credit towards another purchase.
