Title: swapable parts in the front
Post by: tyroelite on December 26, 2003, 12:15:15 PM
Hey, as some of you may know, i had a small accident with the tgp hitting a hill.  I had it at a garage and they say the subframe is bent and that the strut assembly will need to be replaced on the right side. those parts are going to be VERY expensive to replace with new parts. I am wondering how much of this is swapable from junkyard parts and a 90 GP (n/a).  I would imagine the subframe is the same thing, is the strut assembly different?  by that i guess he needs the spindle and all for it.  I am really really hoping there isn't a difference except in the actual strut up front from the regular gp's but I thought I'd ask you guys and see what you know.   OH, btw, in inspecting the damage, I found also that the rear leafspring is cracked (it was before the accident actually) but the good thing about these repairs is that I think I'm gonna go with the FFP coilovers in the back.  Shold be a nice ride. Has anyone else done this and used the STB's from GMparts directe (the ones for the Regal)?

You may want to go w/ bigger brakes while you have everything apart.  I don't know what options are available, but since you have to buy it all anyway, you might want to go ahead and do it.
