Well, I got a chip from someone and am going to be installing a 29C256 and the manual code. Anywho, the chip he sent me is different from my own (ATMK 5205, w/ Delco J251 covering the window) but he says it's a stock TGP chip. One BIG difference noticed is there is a resistor on my MEMCAL, it's on the side opposite the chip. It's soldered down into the jumper area of the MEMCAL, but is factory installed for sure as it's covered w/ the silicon that covers that end of the chip. Here's my questions: 1) I have a pocket Programmer 2, and when I move the device from the chip to the buffer, I get a different checksum every time. Furthermore, when I goto verify the device and the buffer, it won't verify. Does anyone know why this would be happening? I never had any problems w/ my chip, but this one is acting up. TIA.
You still gonna make me a chip?
C, senior, de nada. I just loaded my manTGPorg.bin and it loaded fine, and checksum came up good. So, I'm guessing something is wrong w/ this chip.
It should be a tgp chip....atleast i hope it is. I took it from the tgp that i bought...
If it is bad i can check to see how much chips are from gm.
okay i checked a book for that number 5205 atmk.......and it says that it is a 89-90 tgp chip with federal emmisions so i don't know what is up with it. But jay what are the numbers off of your chip. There are like 3 different tgp chips with federal emissions. And they also have different chips for california emisions.

The ATMK is on there as well, but I'm not gonna touch this until I find out what is going on. I'll fiddle more w/ it tonight.
so your sources say it is a tgp chip also??? I will see on monday how much gm wants for one.
Okay, so does anyone won't to try and run there bin and see if they compare to mine. If anyone wants to send me a .bin of there STOCK chip I would like to verify it. I can rip the chip and burn it, and everything looks okay, but if I "move" the .bin it comes up different EVERY time. I can't even find a common err point. It's just random. It even shows different data locations every time I Verify it. Man, I don't know what I'm unna do. I don't want to remove/solder a new chip in if it's something else. But then again that might fix it. I don't know. Tips???
chips are 60 dollars from gm. I just need the number of what your chip is jay so we are sure the program will work with it
