Hello all...
I am in search of a Turbo Blanket. I called my supplier at Pontiac and he says it is discontinued. Any input as to where to get a stock one or how you have done the aftermarket blanket would be helpful... 8)
I would just go aftermarket. the original is a nice piece, but will eventually fall apart and was overpriced to begin with. you can get very good results from the thermo tec (?) turbo kit with enough material to do several of your friends cars and wrap just about everything on yours. Its easy to do and works as well as the original. I will try to get some pics, but it worked very well.

Where did you get the kit at? Mine is all broken down and there is a layer of white powder under it.
Thanks Chris...do you have the website for them...tried to find it the way you had it listed and nothing. 8)
Its a fairly common kit, but I don't have a website handy. I would just have to search for it.
you can get the kits from summit or jegs which is what my brother did. we used a few layers of material and got a spool of stiff wire to thread them all together. the kit comes with some wire but its not enough. it comes with a ton of heat blocking fabrics. there are different types for different layers applications. you use the wire like a cinch strap to bunch up the fabric around the scroll of the turbo. like the factory one, we used a second section to cover the colletor for the downpipe. really cut the underhood temps. You can almost touch the wrap. I'll actually take some heat measurements with the infared thermo we have.
the kit is around $90.
