Check your injectors.

When you start the car is it real chuggy till it runs for a minute or two? I would have to agree with Twalt on the injectors but, you may also want to check and clean your IAC (Idle Air Control) circuit.  8)

The IAC as far as I know works well and not prone to failure...but very prone to carbon buildup that is easily removed with a Q-tip and some carb cleaner. The IAC is on the left side of the Throttle body with a two wire connection and two screws. As long as you don't move the plunger when you pull it off you will be fine, otherwise there is a procedure to "calibrate" it again.

I wound up removing the top plate of the throttle body and blasted all the passages for the IAC, plus removed the IAC and cleaned it. I had an occasional rough idle. Haven't seen it since the cleaning. If you are running real rich I am sure the IAC passageways will cloud up with carbon real fast... 8)
