I've been looking for an eclipse 1st gen bov on ebay for a while. It looks like some people pay too much for them. So I'm thinking about a universal one. But I was wondering how it would be mounted. Is the bottom just welded to the pipe? Here's a universal one to give an example.

The adapter welds to the pipe, the BOV sits in the adapter

i paid $5 for my 1g DSM BOV. $65 kinda sounds expensive for a BOV.

Cool, so it won't be a hard install. Yeah, $65 is expensive. The dsm's were going for like $30 back in January but lately a lot more (figures, when I want one). I saw some new universal ones for around $40 and as long as there's no extra flange to buy I might do that.
What determines how loud the BOV is? I've seen some outrageous prices on some aftermarket ones, and was wondering what it is about them that makes them "so much louder" then others?
(http://i24.ebayimg.com/03/i/01/93/4b/db_1_sb.JPG) this is better and no welding. Some Bov are better than others thats why they cost from $150-300. the 1st gen dsm is a good place to start but WILL eventually leak. You pay for what you get. I trust BLITZ more than some stock bov.
I got my TurboXs RFL (Really Fucking Loud) for just over 160, yeah i know it is a little high but i think once you drive a car with one of these bad boys on there, you wouldnt want anything else on your car....People can hear you from a few blocks away, the thing is just sweeeeet.
