I love this car, but I am really getting frustrated in trying to get all the parts I need to make this car sensational, and now I need a rear cover, thank god no frame damage, on the back. I am getting discouraged, does anyone have any suggestions, to keep me enthusiastic about my TGP?
Don't get discouraged. This car is an adventure.
1st Black 5sp TGP, I got 00000.00 miles before I bought it along w/ my Red one (nose GONE, but I have it, just not attached. Makes FMIC install easy right???) for $1800. ZERO miles, I worked on it for a month or 2 before I got it running AT ALL.
2nd Black Auto TGP I got 17.6 miles on it before it took a nasty shit on my HEAD!!!! (I left the guys house in Anderson, and got to Yorktown, and it just plain shut off) Didn't start up until 34 days later. Paid $1500 for it. Every TGP I ever buy, I know will either not run when I get it, or will shit itself shortly thereafter (BTW, BOTH cars the injectors went out) That's love right there. Trust me, if I can make it through this crap w/ these cars you can do w/ a little body work, and it will all be worth it in the end. There nothing like, pressing the pedal down, and every 1/2" you get pressed further into your seat, soon the turbo starts to whistle a bit, w/ the roar of the air filter close behind. Then the sound of the BOV when you let off the gas because you just pulled 6 car lengths on Aaron's DOHC. Just keep in mind, nobody will see body damage when you blow past them, all they remember is, "Shit, did that say TURBO on the back"

this is exactly why I still own this car, it is a thrill to drive, looks great and is a piece of automotive history. I still regret selling my 87 shelby csx. that was a rare one also!
I've been trying to get this beast to live in my cavalier for awhile now -- still not taking to its new home, but getting there.... (Also swapping from its native 'auto' to a 5 speed that was standard on my Z24...)
Don't give up!
