I posted this at the other forum so sorry if it's repetitive. While I was on the highway today all of a sudden my steering got weird. It felt like it walked on me and it was was out of alignment. I pulled over to see if the rack was ok and it was. It wasn't until I looked under the hood that I saw the engine was tilted. The rear pass side bolt had broken and the subframe is now hanging. Looks like it f'ed up the 2 upper mounts too.
My question is what to do next. I know there was a recall about the rusty bolts. Can I take it to Pontiac and tell them about the recall. Will they fix it free? If not I guess I'll have to get the bolts and do it myself, and then get an alignment.

I'm pretty sure a dealer has to honor any recall, regardless of how long ago the recall was established. This will just be further evidence that the recall was called for!
That reminds me.....I'd better get mine checked, pronto!
Considering the amount of rust on the car it shouldn't be a problem.
I had a bolt break also and when I went to the dealership they looked up the vin and it said there were NO RECALLS FOR THIS VEHICLE. I even called Pontiac's number to see what they could tell me but it seems like because the vin is a v instead of a t they don't have a recall for it. Kinda sucks cuz it made me wreck my car about 1000$ worth of damage i'm still working off. GOOD LUCK with it though, let us know if you find someone that will do the recall for you.
