Title: good news on RKE
Post by: tyroelite on April 14, 2004, 07:54:40 PM
As i was going in to Auto Zone today to look for a TB gasket, I saw that on the door that they now sell keyless entry remotes!  They even had a pick of the square remote w/ lock&unlock on top and trunk on bottom like we need for our cars.  Stupid me though, I forgot to ask the price on them     I'll be going back there tomorrow to get the gasket so I'll find out then and let you know what I find :).

hmm... I don't think thats gonna work.  I think you're gonna need to get the factory fob.  The aftermarket ones need you to wire in the box.  Its not that big of a deal if you know wiring-- but im sure alot of people out here can help you out

Why would they need that?  The right aftermarket ones are designed to be just like the OEMs.  I've got several friends that have bought aftermarket ones elsewhere, and they've worked perfectly fine with the factory RKE receiver.

yea, i asked today at autozone how much they were and apparently, they are a new special order item for them.  THe guy I talked to had no idea how much they sold for and said he didn't think that they had ever ordered one in.
