Title: How to remove emblems from the car???
Post by: 90TGP on August 14, 2002, 05:53:50 PM
How would I go about removing emblems from the car without damaging the paint? I know the dental floss is a popular method then using goo gone stuff. What steps and  tools would I need?

How did I know this would be coming. If you are lucky, 10 years of age will make it easy for them to pop off. You can use floss, which has never worked to well for me on older cars, or a plastic paint scraper. They have worked pretty well for me (sometimes even used a metal one ok).  Then you might need some rubbing compound and wax to get some of the residue off. one car i did had the emblems epoxied on so it required some sanding. You may also need to use a razor blade. oh, also wd40 helps things to slide and come off easy as well so hose it down with that too.
