Title: New wheels&tires mounted! *PICS*
Post by: 90TGP on April 16, 2004, 05:18:13 PM
Well I just mounted my new wheel and tire combo today on the TGP. It has Nitto 555 Extreme 235/45/17 ZR-Rated tires mounted on 17x7" RS Limited Concept Pro wheels in Gunmetal w/polished lip. The tires handle like a dream, much better then my old R-Rated all weather PepBoy's Futura tires. I also had to fork out $75 for a torque wrench from Sear's, but it's a good investment to have.

Going from the stock 16" wheels to the new 17" wheels, the ride quality didn't suffer that much. I do feel a little bit more of the road because of the smaller sidewalls, but it's tolerable and not teeth grinding bad. The Nitto's are very sticky. Made driving down twisty country roads a breeze.

The gunmetal and polished lip compliment the red nicely. Looks sweet as hell at night.

Yes, they are 17". They have an offset of 43mm. I used a 5/16" [9mm] spacer on all four. The front caliper clears by like 2mm AT MOST   . They are gunmetal, I think it's the picture that makes them look darker.  8)

The gauges from top-to-bottom are A/F ratio, boost, and water temp. They are Autometer Z-Series with red bulbs from Autozone. And yes, that's a FULL LENGTH 3-gauge pillar pod  :D

That looks Awsome!.. Now time to lower it and close a little bit of the wheel well gap. A Dark Tint on the windows would make it look Amasing!

Someday my TGP will look that good, I Hope :)

I had it lowered last year with the Suspension Technique springs, but the tires would rub like crazy on the fender flares  :(  So then I replaced them with new FE3 replacement springs.

Your car looks great!  I think the dark wheels look great on a TGP.  I'm going to have to agree with RedZMonte about the tint.  If I were you that would be next on my list.  Do you have any more pictures?  I would like to see some better shots of the wheels.

I'll have to take some more pics sometime. I plan on getting tint this summer. My intercooler and race seats are my main priority right now.

imagine my black tgp with 15% tinted windows(already done) with his wheels..............mmmmmmmmm.................lol         i want a set of bigger wheels and tires...was gonna go with 18's but i just uped for a set of the new cooper zeon 2xs tires.....wow they handle and grip like crazy! 6 ply sidewall, my tire guy was laughin as he put them on cause they are so stiff he had to move his machine a few times to get them all the way around the rim.....imagine if i got them in a 35 series tire....wow   but i def. think yer car looks tight dude! very nice and i wasnt sure bout the split 5 spokes on a tgp but u pulled it off! congrats!   im jealous! :D
