Year:  1990
Transmission:  4T60E

ShiftPlus simply recalibrates your transmission's hydraulic system electronically. The ShiftPlus shift firmness not only makes driving more fun and pleasurable, but slippage and heat are reduced - extending the life of your transmission. Anyone can install a B&M ShiftPlus in minutes with a few simple hand tools. This new design allows you to improve the transmission's shifting performance without removing the transmission pan or valve body. The B&M ShiftPlus electronically enhances shift quality and is adjustable. A simple flip of the switch allows the transmission to operate in the performance mode. Flip it back and you are back to stock!

it was my understanding that the tgp does not have the 4t60-E... just 4t60.   I have been wrong before though... once.

You're correct, the TGP has a 4T60 not the 4T60E. The 4T60E is the electronic controled tranny.

Oh the line pressure riser...won't work on the TGP engine..
Yours is mechanical...the vacum modulator...yea  that thing that everyone hates thats attaced to the front of the tranny. Your already reaching the full line pressure. Try type f fluid...I heard it firms up shifts.

BTW...90TGP..I have that turbo warning decal...LOL.. I bought it on ebay. Verry useful.  8)

So is the 4t60e. It still used a vacuum modulator and that is what the BM thing modifies. I believe it goes in the vacuum source.

The difference in a 4t60e is the shift solenoids are PWM and can be electronically adjusted to quicken the shift. The same can be done in the TGP trans by changing the accumlator springs, or increasing the orifice size I'm not sure of the preferred method. For 3rd however, there is no accumulator, just a band apply. So I for get how to quicken the shift there.

Sure doesn't look like something that would change a vacuum signal to me.

Hey guys,

I had that thing installed on my 89' GP.... it did nothing but F up my transmission.  Every time my car downshifted, it sounded like my trans was going to drop.  Don't use it.

just a heads up.
