Title: WTB: TGP keyless entry remote
Post by: Black Pheonix on August 15, 2002, 08:45:24 AM
I am needing a Keyless entry remote since its last owner didn't have one. I am looking to pay around 20 dollars.  Thanks,

Do you need the receiver or transmitter?  Have you tested your system (green wire in trunk by antenna - ground it and see if the locks cycle)

The receivers are about $150 from the dealers, sometimes (rarely) you can find one in a J/Y (located on rear deak behind speakers) that works.

I went to a pontiac used car dealer and gave the "lot boy" $5.00 a piece (under the table) for two transmitters with the pontiac arrow on them.  They are TRW components with the P/N 10205241 Model A800104T

Good luck

Just find someone local (used car dealer) and get one there, just make sure it has the right numbers.

Good luck

i would just pocket one next time you go the the salvage yard.  any remote should work as long as it's made by TRW and has lock & unlock buttons on top row, and trunk on bottom.  i got one from a '95 Monte and it works with my car fine (had to program it first tho).   i wouldn't mind buying a new reciever from the dealership....i've had to resolder mine 3 times now.  those things are crap!

I resoldered mine once. It unlocks the drivers side door and pops the trunk open when the inside temp of the car gets hot. You will all of a sudden hear a solenoid or relay start wigging out and wahla...an open TGP for all to steal!

that's not good :!:   i know i'm going to have to resolder mine again because during the warmest part of the day it won't work.  when it cools off it works like it should.  i've never had it go off by itself tho!
