Alright, you guys are the TGP experts.
I've got 2 coolers on my TGP, I assume ones oil, and the other is the Tranny cooler.
Which is which? I wish to reuse the stock oil cooler, but I havew a Flex-a-lite tranny cooler replacing the stock one.
I see a small cooler mounted tucked up in the passenger side front fender well ducted to the side. And a large cooler HANGING with zip ties on the front part of the subframe nearer to the drivers side. Which is which?????
:?
God!!! I need an '89 TGP Service Manual suppliment BAD!!!!!
the tranny cooler is the one in the passenger side fender with ducting to the front of the car. i just sold a TGP tranny cooler setup a couple weeks ago.
If you have two "coolers" you should follow the cooling lines from the tranny to wherever it is going. It is possible someone stopped using the stock tranny cooler (under right front fender well) and put an aftermarket in it's place. Other possibility is that they set up an aftermarket along with the stock tranny cooler. You need to follow the lines to see where everything goes.
The stock "motor oil" cooler is an integral part of the oil filter mount and housing. It circulates water through a series of plates that the oil's heat is wicked away with.
