Title: TGP > MR2
Post by: gp90se on April 30, 2004, 04:01:30 PM
Woke up this morning, descided the truck needed a day off (that and I couldnt get it out), I took the TGP to school......insuranceless....

So I baby the thing there, listing to the sounds trying to figure out what Ive gotta do next. Get into class, sit thru 50 minutes of java, meet up with my buddy with a 92ish MR2. Its not a turbo, but he rebuilt the engine last year, 10.5:1, cold air intake, 1 1/4 per pipe header into a 2" collector, head work, its a very nice little ride.

I get on the highway, get upto about 40, babying it mind you, he pulls up next to me. Im figuring if I gotta get busted for driving illegally, might as well go all out. Both of us nail it from about 35-40ish...I look over and ive got about 2 car lenghts on em at 95mph, where we both shut it down.
Get to the stoplight, my engine lights blinking and the car wants 2 die, he looks over 2 me and says "damn that thing is pretty quick". I smile and told em I broke something, the engine light was on. "alright cool, have a good weekend"

I get the thing home 2 miles up the street, pop the hood and the TB vaccum lines all poped off. Put em back on and put the car back into hiding.

no one says there's anything wrong with having a little fun once in a while.  Might want to put some clamps on those lines from the throttle body or replace them.  I know how you feel though my car is in hiding right now too.  It's currently insuranceless and hasn't been drivin in a couple of weeks.
