Okay...
So lately my car haz been over heating ALOT!(tho only when I drive it for a while during HOT weather). But IT 'DOESN'T LEAK' antifreeze, except for when it really gets HOT(it leaks from tha open hose tha comes out from tha coolant bottol) in which I mostly never let it do. At first I thought maybe its over heating cause of tha sudden weather change, and cause I've never replaced tha thermostat since I bought tha car. SO I replaced tha thermostat and drained tha radiator and filled it back up with nothing but prestone. And still, that didn't seem to help AT ALL!. All I've done to my car Mod Wize waz cut tha exhaust from right after tha cat, and I don't think that would make it over heat. If anyone knowz of this problem can you please get back at me, cause I've really getting frustrated. PLUS, its my only transportation:cry:...
Thank you.
Sounds like you have air in the cooling system. Take the rad. cap off. (when car is cool) Top it off. (use water) Start car and let it run until the t-stat opens. Check the rad. to see if it needs filled. Keep doing this until the coolant stays topped off when the t-stat opens.
You could also drill a couple small holes in the t-stat to allow some coolant to continuosly cycle through the rad.
OH? that could be it...
Tho I think I just found tha correct 'AREA' where its leaking from. Its seems to be leaking somewhere around tha left lower side of tha rad or maybe around tha lower area of tha water pump(and it could be tha WP, cause I changed that like 6 months ago). I'm not too sure? I think I might have a small leak around tha clamp on tha bigger size hose down there. So I waz gonna' have a look at that when I got home. So I'll let you know more less tomorrow. But do you think it could still be "air in the cooling system"?
Pure coolant will beat a cooling system up. Make sure you mix it properly, and make sure you bleed it, our you may be looking at head gaskets.
Do not use straight coolant. Always use a mixture. Also when you shutdown bleed off any air in the system thru the blled screw on top of the thermos housing. Also there is a good chance your rad is shot if there has been no-recoring or exchange in many years.
