Title: TGP gauges
Post by: rossGT on June 15, 2004, 09:27:10 PM
Is the part of the cluster gauge that lights up "intercooled turbo" removable in any way... even if I can dremel it out? Im not familiar with the backs of gauages, any input is appreciated.

  Thanks,

Ross

here is a web site that will tell you how to make the intercooled turbo lettering on the dash light up http://home.comcast.net/~aldridgec/TGP/interior/illuminating_turbo.htm

Thanks, that seems easy enough, But I was wondering if it could actually be removed, which i think it can... Also, is the turbo boost dial removable? Im working on a custom project.

Yup, you can cut the intercooled turbo out with a knife.  The boost gauge, probably, but as others will tell you it's not accurate.  I'm pretty sure I have just the face of a tgp cluster if you want one.

It isn't a round gauge...it is like a quarter circle, and it is roughly 1.5"x1.5".  IMO it isn't worth removing from the dash...they are all inaccurate, and it wouldn't be easy to remove.
