OKAY!
As many of you know, I have been having LOTS! of problems with my black 90 tgp. And so I finally said FUCK IT! and paid $50.00 to have a diagnostic test done professionally so I could find out more less whats wrong with my car, and stop paying massive amounts of money on useless parts. So I got the results, and it turns out that my car is only running on 5 cylinders cause I guess cylinder #5 wasn't reading at all. the mechanic who worked on my car said "for $60.00 more I could search deeper to see if cylinder 5 is even getting any compression". But unfortunately I didn't have the money at the time. But yeah, assuming that #5 was getting compression, He told me to try the coil packs and/or module and that should get running back to more less normal. and so I DID!, I replaced the CPU's and the Module and it did help Little, it took away that awful puttering noise from the exhaust and gave my car alittle more BALLZ!!!. but see, this is what I need help with trying to figure out....
On the way home from my dads, after replacing the Plug-Wire's, CP's, and Module my car was more less running normal ignoring the fact the I ONLY GET 5 POUNDS OF BOOST compared to what I use't to get back when I first got the car. But then this is what gets me, after 5 minutes or so, of driving. The car starts puttering and wanting to die out like if my cp's/module was still bad!. I'm thinking maybe its an exhaust valve, Or a vacuum leak of some sort cause I could hear a kind'a loud hissing noise underneath the manifold(would a vacuum leak do this type of destruction to my car?). And also, my ABS just went out(i think?), would that have something to do with my cars performance..
IF POSSIBLE, can someone please help me find the solution to my problem. cause I'm all ready thinking of selling this piece and getting a NEW CAR!, but trust me I really don't want to. ITS MY BABY 8)
Any comments would be helpful, thanx...
Do a compression test, to see what you have for compressionon all 6 cylinders.
Is the cat or exhaust plugged???
Bad plug or bad wire????
Bad injector???
Okay, the injectors are good I had those checked first. And uhhhhhhhhh, tha plugs I changed recently and tha wires are bran new. as for tha plugged cat/exhaust its a maybe. I don't know if this will help but I recently cut my exhaust! and it seems like all this started when I did that. Would cutting the exaust cause my car to run like crap?
Cut how?
On tha passenger side exhaust where tha single exhause turns into two. So in other words, I'm running off of one muff!
Aside from being kinda dumb, I doubt it has anything todo w/ your troubles. Now if it was true duals w/o an X or H pipe I would say yes, but single exhaust, most of the exh. is just going out that pipe. Same waves.
OK Grasshopper, pay attention... (Old Kung Fu saying)

(1) You need to do a compression check to find out if you even have compression. (you are making everyone guess because you won't, or can't afford to do this)

(2) When you replaced the CPU, do you mean the computer, chip, or both??? If so the car was doing a LEARN which is why it was running OK for 5 minutes

If you are hearing a Vacuum leak under the intake, it is most likely the PCV Hose, that has either deteriorated or been knocked off, you need to pull the upper pendulum to fix this problem. And No the ABS won't affect performance as it is NOT using engine Vacuum. :drinking: :drinking:
