Title: Rear Isolator Pads - FYI
Post by: GPChief on June 26, 2004, 11:23:22 AM
This is just an "information" topic no need to reply

Finaly got a chance to start working on my TGP.  First order of business was replacing my worn out (missing) rear leaf spring isolator pad.

The passenger side went in as pr the directions but the drivers side was a little more difficult.

To get the drivers side in due to not being able to compress leaf spring enough this is what I did.

- Unbolted the strut and compressed it in order to get enough space to put in the new isolator pad.   Now more creaking when going over bumps.

- The pads are from Moog called "Transverse Spring Isolator Pad"
PN = K6544
- Cost $38.00 shipped
- Good prevenative maintenance item IMO.

Is that the rubber pad that goes around the end of the leaf spring? My drivers side one is gone.
