Title: starting problem (starter?)
Post by: tyroelite on July 09, 2004, 01:40:44 PM
Hey, just wondering what the expert opinions thought of this problem. Sometimes my car starts fine, other times, it won't do anything, no clicks cranks or otherwise.  Today it left me at McDonalds in the parking lot. I took a piece of wire an connected it from the battery (+) to the small wire post on the start sollenoid and had my brother turn the key and it started right up again.  This would lead me to believe that the starter motor and solenoid are fine.  What could cause such intermitten problems like this?  Perhaps just dirty terminals on the starter? Any common wiring problems that could cause this? Maybe the P/N switch?

Neutral start switch. Jump the two big wires together and see if that solves your problem.

Be aware this will render the neutral/park safty usless. It will start any any gear.
