I will be rebuilding the engine in my TGP in the next few weeks, I need to replace the cam because it lost lobes. I have a quick question maybe someone here is able to answer for me..
I have called Summit and gotten pn#'s for the cam, lifters, cam bearings, piston rings and main and rod bearings, but I don't know which main bearings to order, 3/4 groove, standard bearings, or a .50mm offset bearing.
Anyone know? Thanks.
I'm not exactly sure on what kind are in my motor, but the main bearings are MS-2037P and the Rod Bearings are CB-1238P, however, we uses custom Crower Sprortsman 5.7" SBC rods with the reduced wrist pin size diameter and what not....

For more details.....
Edit - found info on the Mains, they are Clevite bearings....

The second one listed....
I didn't have any luck finding info about the Rod one, I'm sure they are Clevite since the guy that built the motor uses them on his race motors and pretty much all his good motors he builds....
hey man i got a pretty bad ass cam from comp......i have the part number at home.....it was a custom grind for my app. if ya want i can get ya the number when i go home next................... might be a day or two :D
Post them up if ya would, I'd be interested in seeing what they are? Did you have the custom grind specific for a turbo?
My cam specs BTW....
Lift - .455 In/.450 Ex
Duration @ .50" - 214 In/210 Ex.
Lobe Center 111* and Lobe Separtion 115*
its not that big and doesn't have any lope at idle, it does however hold awesome EGTs which is the idea of course. And considering its in a Gen II head motor, it pulls to 6500 with no problem in N/A form....
I will also mention this engine passed Utah emission standards with 0ppm at idle and 3ppm at 2500.....well, I kinda cheated by having a Haltech.....
Here's a little more info.

yea man i'll post the specs as soon as i get home.........
when i called comp cams i told them what i had and what i wanted to do with it ( street racing, drag strips, but still be half decent to drive everyday, and we gave them rpm range turbo specs and all and they calculated me a killer combo custom for me.
so i will post the specs and the part number so if anybody wants to get one just like it they can give them the number

Sounds like exactly the cam I want! I am tearing my engine apart sometime in the next couple weeks and I'm pretty interested in the specs for that cam to see if I think it will work for me. If you can post the specs on here asap that would be awesome.

So I've got replies and responses that I should upgrade, it's pointless for me to go stock again, and the opposite that I should stay stock because of the computer.
m6amba - custom cam from comp ? What number? Any weird reactions with the computer? Feel any difference or gains? Idle/fuel?
