I know this isn't the right forum, but more people visit this forum then the general section.
There are at least 3 owners in the NE Ohio/NW PA area with TGP's. Air TGP, turbo90gp, and myself.
I was thinking of doing a mini-meet for us TGP owners here in Youngstown, OH. We all know how rare these cars are and it's rare to see more then 1 in any given area [with exemption to people that own 2+ cars  ] Here's some stuff about my area.
We have a VERY LARGE state park with a lake, I don't think you can swim in it though. You have to drive through half of the park to get to the lake, makes great cruising. Lots of places for picnics and photo ops. The best picnic area has a large shaded parking lot that's right next to the lake. It also has grills, but I probably wouldn't use them. You can rent a row or paddle boat at the same lake, and you can fish in it. In the same park at a place called Rocky Ridge, there are 18 short holes, batting cages, softball fields, and walk-in water fountain to cool off in. It also has two large parking lots for photo op. Rocky Ridge is very close to the lake. And of course there are a lot of hiking trails. That's just the park. [:D]
A stone's throw from the park is the main cruising strip, Rt. 224 [this road goes across the whole distance of Ohio from Indiana to PA]. Lots of restraunts to eat at; Denny's, Chili's, Perkin's, Bob Evan's, IHOP, Red Lobster, Lonestar Steak House, Olive Garden, The Outback, The Springfield Grill SteakHouse, Chi Chi's, Applebee's, TGIF Friday, Friendly's, The Grand Buffet [great asian food buffet], China Garden [great family owned asian food restruant] and of course the fast food places and Krispie Kream and Star Bucks. There are also a few places for auto repair if you need it and a BP/Shell gas stations. Target, K-Mart, and Wal-Mart for quick shopping. There's an automated carwash that I go to a lot for those that want to clean their cars. There's also the mall to shop at. Inside the mall is a restraunt called Jillian's. It has a sports bar, pool tables, bowling lanes, and an arcade. It stays open late.
Right by the Outback and Springfield Grill are about 3 hotels.
Every Friday there is a cruise-in at A&W [the best burgers in the area!] with a parking lot large enough for 25-30 cars. Then every saturday there is a cruise-in at Chili's [located in the mall parking lot] that has even a bigger parking lot.
Right off of Rt.224 near the mall, is the local town park, Boardman Park. It has softball fields, volley ball court with sand, bike trail, tennis courts, and pavillions with grills. But I wouldn't use those either. Lots of little parking lots for photo op.
There are two bowling ally's. One was just newly renovated with an arcade, pool tables, and a bar. It's a bit expensive though, you pay by the hour.
About 25-30 minutes from Rt. 224 is Quaker City raceway. It's not the greatest track in the world, but they hold test n' tune every Friday. $20 for unlimited runs.
There are about 3-4 hotels right off of 224 with Outback and Springfield Grill inbetween them and a road gives easy access to Wal-Mart from the hotels. There is also B&B Backstage infront of the Outback. They hold live concerts usually every weekend. Every now and then they'll get a celebrity singer, last year Alice Cooper stopped by.
And a half-hour north of Youngstown is Summit Racing HQ. They just renovated the showroom last year, so tons of stuff you can drool at. :)
I was thinking of having this on Saturday August 7.
So anyone want to do a TGP meet? 8)
Too far for me...

Would the meet be open to all LG5 powered cars or just TGP's?
Sure, why not! 8)
Im thurre, goin to get the bitch from the transmission shop today!
man i would love to come but its a 3 and 1/2 hour drive from dayton
Quoteman i would love to come but its a 3 and 1/2 hour drive from dayton
If I was that close, I'd be there, well worth it to be around other TGP'ers
Quotebut its a 3 and 1/2 hour drive
I had to drive this last friday to the parts store to get my total seal piston rings and it took almost 3hrs of driving. Of course..its all city driving.
So there were 5 TGP owners and 5 cars there...which one was also yours Idbeast. Awsome. I wonder what the largers meet is of TGPers. and TGPs.
I don't think any of those people post here anymore...Just Jeff.

He said the second one from the left and the second one from the right. (his red '89 and black '90)
If I know there is gonna be more than like 1 other TGP there than I'll be there if I have the STE done by then. (it will be close). My goal is to have it done by the end of next week, but you never know.
Shawn
There were 3 turbo's at the RI meet a few months ago.

Yeah, but 3 of them really isn't that much. I mean its cool and all, but there are 2 sitting in my driveway. There are people on here that own 3+ themselves. However, if 3 people showed up to this meet it would be worth it.
You planning on coming no1kicker?
Shawn
Hey, 3 to me is good. 8) I probably won't make it, I'll have to see how work goes this week, cause I'd love to come.
I know how that is with work and all.
Like I said, if I get the engine in the STE done by then (which I should have it done, but I'm not gonna rush on it, so no garuntees) then I will try to make it. Should be interesting to see how the engine turns out with the GMPP cam, ud pulley, 24lb. injectors, and the couple other little things I'm doing, and I'm debating on porting the exhaust manifolds too. I'm also getting my new tires mounted on my maroon 5 spokes tommarow. So by August 7 my car will be a completely different car, so it would be cool to come, but like you I'm not sure. If I know you're coming it would give me more incentive to come because your car is very similar to mine and I would like to check it out. Afterall, if my STE isn't done its not like I don't have another TGP to bring.
Shawn
God damn, that's a long ass drive... I'd love to tag along to one of these with my car and Jess's TGP, but that's a bit too far to travel. (17 hour drive)
How about Illinois, Indiana, something more central?
Hey Shawn, sounds like the STE is gonna kick ass! I can't wait to see your wheels look on there. Also I would port the ex man's, assuming they're already off the engine.
Ya'll better be there, I just dropped 900 on my car today to get it the hell outta the shop, Ill be cleanin er' up all week!
QuoteSo there were 5 TGP owners and 5 cars there...which one was also yours Idbeast. Awsome. I wonder what the largest meet is of TGPers. and TGPs.

Two were mine, Jeff M drove one of them, he had the use of the Black 90 when he visited me for a week...
Five TGP's & 5 TGP'er is the largest so far!!! :hockey: :drinking:

How's the 5 speed doing??? Make sure that you baby it for a while until the clutch is broken in.
I'm willing to come out to Ohio, but Aug 7th is a little to soon for me. Maybe we can have a meet later in the year, like late september. I just went to an INTENSE mod day on Sat. and I have another CPACGP meet next Sat. My wife is ready to kill me as I'm at some GP thing every weekend. :)
Skalor, you can drive the TGP and let your wife drive the Lumina to the gathering :D
the 5 speed is good, got a leak on a line though (Not transmission) dont know what the line is for, its over the turbo though but its not a fuel line.....If someone could host a pic Ill get one.
Use photobucket.com
figured it out, it is one of the fuel lines... I was wrong, lol.. God damn it, how much do those run? I can't even loosen the fittings....jesus
I'm with Skalor. If it were some time in September, I would have a MUCH better chance of making it.
Hey guys, how does Sept. 4 sound? It's a saturday.
YOU BASTARDS!!!! I ALLREDY REQUESTED OFF WORK FOR THE 7TH!!!! Haha just playin, Ill tell em I can work and just request off for sept 4th... Hopefully by then everything will be fine tuned.
I don't mean to cause problems, but I'm moving into my new house in Sept. so the first week in the Sept. won't be good for me. I can do Sept. 11th, which is the following Sat. I really would like to go and I think that we can get a good turnout if we take some time to plan it out. 8)
If I make it I'll only be bringing the TGP as I'm selling Lumina and I need to sell it before I move as I need the money.
I definately agree that August 7 is a little too soon. If it were in the end of August, beginning of september there would be a much greater chance of me being able to make it.

I'm hoping the car kicks ass when I'm done. It looks sweet with the 5 spokes on there IMO. I just replaced the passenger halfshaft today (lots of torque + tires that grip well = broken axle) and put a new brake caliper on. Put a new brake caliper on the drivers side a few weeks ago. Put on a new rotor and new pads on the passenger side, working on putting on the drivers side rotor and pads right now. So I'm doing a lot of brake work. So the car looks decent now, and it should stop decent now, the tires should help it handle better, now all I have to do is get the engine done and it should move pretty good too.
The exhaust manifolds are going to be off anyways, so I figure I may as well port them. Assuming I have time I will port the exhaust manifolds. I am hoping I feel a significant gain with all this stuff, but you never know. We'll see in about a week or so.
