Title: Taylor Plug Wire Set Install, With Pictures
Post by: Tooky on August 18, 2002, 01:34:57 PM
Last week I installed a custom set of Taylor 8mm Spiro-Pro wires (spiral core).  I went to their website www.taylorvertex.com and browsed the online catalog until I found a set for the 1990 Pontiac W-Body VIN V (turbo).  These wires are also the same as some other 3.1s including the VIN T like in a 93 Cavalier Z24.  If you want to order these wires, I have more information in my part number post: http://www.tgpforums.com/index.php?topic=154

The wires didnt give me any trouble except fitting in the wire looms right near the coils.  They fit in, but I couldn't close the clamp so I just left it open.  Maybe with a pliers I could close it snug.  The other looms worked fine and so the wires aren't going anywhere, it didn't bother me.

Here's what you get for your $39..

I was getting frustrated by the time I got to the end so I didn't even bother with the black plastic wire-hose that went in the area in the above picture.  I just routed the wires through there and I think it works fine.  I did have to unbolt the top alternator support bolt to remove the old wires, and gently bend it out of the way to remove each wire.

And now, a handy reference guide I made for everyone to use.  Save this to disk for future use!

Hope this helps,

Dragging up a really old topic here, but just got some questions that I thought some others might want to know about as well...

Have you noticed any type of improvement in the motor with these wires?
How are they holding up to your driving thus far?
What type of warenty, if any, did they offer?
Are you running the OEM plug with these wires or???

Thanks
