I ran across a '89 turbo grand prix in the junkyard and pulled the turbo from it. I may be looking for another or selling this one depending on what my research turns up. Just trying to get an idea how much these things sell for. Thanks :)
It depends on the mileage/condition of the turbo basically. I'm not sure exactly what they go for now, but don't expect a whole lot from it as you can score them from pull-a-part junkyards for $20-50 in most cases. You don't happen to have pictures of what else is left on that 89 TGP do you?

Where are you located?
No pictures :(
It had right at 100,00 miles.
I looked after reading here and it has 1 hairline crack at the wastegate about 3/4" long, alittle corrosion on the intake wheel (from setting before it went to the junkyard I guess) and a little oil reside wher the air goes out (none that I saw in the intercooler).
It's in Nashville TN at the pull a part junkyard.
No wheels, I got the turbo, intercooler and pipes, no doors, hood wasn't good.
Thanks
Ok, more time to talk now :)
http://www.pullapart.com Is where it is at the Nashville location. Hopefully you have some one on the board that is close (Tennessee or Kentucky maybe) that knows what to get off these cars.
A little more detail : red with a tan interior, radio, hud, all ground effects (unless the doors had some), ecm, complete brake system, engine and transmission still there last weekend.
Sorry if this is in the wrong section, please put it where it needs to be if it is.
Thanks for the replies. I posted here because this seemed like one of the better TGP boards.
If you could get the crossover pipe (this is what the turbo you removed was bolted to), I'd give you $50 for it.
I cut the flange off that the turbo bolted to. :( sorry
OUCH!!!!!
Do you think there is any way you can get the HUD and the dimmer switch for it that is below the headlight switches for me, or someone in that area. I am VERY interested in a HUD for my TSTE. I will pay for the HUD, shipping, and your time (to a certain extent).

It is apparent that you don't know a whole lot about TGP's. There are a LOT of people that would kill for that crossover to use as a core charge for the Jeff M crossover, or to use to repair to replace theirs, or use to install while repairing theirs.
You cut off both flanges that the turbo bolts to??? Wow....I guess you really wanted that turbo.

As far as not knowing about tgp's that's true. I didn't even know that any came with turbos until I saw this one. I have always heard about the supercharged ones.
As far as the hud it was there but it would be much better if someone on here that had one of these cars could get it and test it first as I have no way to tell if it works.
