Title: stock radio chassis for 89 - possible swap with 90?
Post by: 89turboGP on August 18, 2002, 08:58:57 PM
hi,
Im a new owner of a 89 turbo grand prix with a stock radio that has like a dual square radio unit, one box is for the radio, and one is for the EQ and tape deck. i was wondering if it was possible to swap in a radio structure that holds the stock cd player so i can atleast put in an aftermarket deck of some sort. because right now im not sure of anywasy of putting a deck in either one of those square units. any help would be appreciated. thank you very much.

I am not for sure, but I think those two units can come out and then you can buy a 1.5 din stereo that will fit in the hole. I am not a stereo expert though so don't quote me... 8)

Yeah, if you want to do aftermarket that is what you have to do. Get the radio housing from a 90 or newer.
