Title: Few Questions
Post by: z284pwr on September 08, 2004, 12:33:49 AM
Firstly, most important as of right now....

How do I go about removing the bolts from the crossover support on the transmission?  One of the nuts was badly stripped by some tard that installed it last....???  Are they threaded in or just pressed in or what???

Now that we have the engine out of the car and realised how much shit there actually is in the car as compared to the easy Berettas we have done before....has anyone ever re-plumbed or moved some of the coolant lines in the front of the engine, there are ALOT and not in very convinient locations to us...?

Oh and what about that attachment on the oil filter adapter?  That thing that has coolant lines running into it, we are guessing that its some kind of wanna be oil cooler thing?

Lets see, I know there is something else, but that should do for now....

My car has 13mm or 1/2" nuts on those bolts for the xover support.  Try going smaller and spray those bastards with some lube.  They'll come out.

Oh well, its to late for one already....it was a circle pretty much, and it received the high speed grinder treatment....

Oh yeah, I did remember one more question, out of curiosity, has anyone ever found a way to install the hood louvers without the tray and what not under them, they would allow a lot more cooling it would seem without those, I'm not worried about water getting in there right now, so that wouldn't be a problem.....

1)Yes that's an oil cooler.
2)Yes you can install the louvres w/o the pans, Sunshine has them installed as such.  The p/o did it, but I can take pics if you like.

Take pictures if you would, I'd like to see how that was, and how they got them mounted without them sliding back and forth.....

Oh yeah, does that "oil cooler" do that much as to be worth putting back on?  Or would it save us a lot of heartache and a bunch of hoses that are in the way and just not put on .....
