Title: New member, TGP owner, have some questions/comments
Post by: Busa Racer on September 30, 2004, 07:23:52 PM
Have had my 89 TGP for 4 months, has 79k miles...

PROS:
unbelievable ride, handling, power for an older GM car. Comfortable too.

CONS:
Cruise inop,
front valance busted, cut off where it was really bad, so it looks bad...
turbo is starving, intake hose looks like it collapses.

The things I would appreciate some input is....
1) best way to get a valance without going brand new through GM,
2) need help finding the performance chip,
3) the front wheels get dirty in 2 days from brake dust, and are a bitch to clean.

I know the information is here, but don't have the time to read every thread, so some help would be appreciated.

lata,
Chris.

The part number is Panel, Valance 12522768
I paid about $140 delivered.

For the chip, you need to talk to JEFF M

I have a metal disc that goes between the wheel and rotor
that seems to work pretty good. I do not know where they
come from because they were on the car when I bought it.

PACK QTY: 1 CORE CHARGE: $0.00
GM LIST: $184.92
OUR PRICE: $109.10

The part number is right, they just call it a license plate holder...
It was $109 plus shipping...
That part is for the 91-93 B4U, same part used on TGP...

As for the brake dust on the wheels, try the EBC Greenstuff Pads, Very low dusting and it wipes off very easy.

You can get them at www.brakewarehouse.com

I was just looking for EBC pads and found these..

What do you think of those rotors?  Are they worth the $$?
