Title: What are your 1/4 mile(or hp/torque) goals for 05?
Post by: mfewtrail on January 11, 2005, 12:24:33 AM
As the title says.....

My goals at the moment are to run a 14.4-14.5(@ 1100') as-is on street tires(I'll be buying new/better tires later as my current ones aren't the greatest for launching w/).  I'll be shooting for that early in the drag racing season while it's still cold here(track opens late in Feb.).  I also hope to hit at least high 13's on street tires by the end of the year with the stock turbocharger.

I'm shooting for high 13's in the spring on street tires and my stock T25.  Thats what I was shooting for at the end of last season, but by the time I finally got the engine running where I was satisfied with it, the tracks were closed or the weather was too shitty to go.  But the car should be setup exactly as it was in the fall in the spring so I can see what it does.  I might borrow my dads slicks and try to get it to around 13.6 or so.  But I'm just shooting for 13's and 220whp.

I'm also shooting for high 13's on street tires with the stock T-25.  I'm working on getting a WB02 setup so that I can tune a high boost/race gas chip.

I hope you put some stronger parts in your rebuilt transaxle.

My rebuilt transaxle, which I haven't posted anything about yet, was built wrong (they put the valve body gasket in backwards) and I told them it wasn't right, and they said it was because of how my shift cable was setup. (due to the different topend, it isn't perfect, but its pretty damn close)  So, it wasn't getting any better, and the only way I could get it to shift right was to shift it myself.  I kept telling them it wasn't right, but they apparently don't realize that I know a little about my car, and kept insisting it was the shift cable.  So after about two weeks of driving it like this I brought it to the shop my dad uses for his GTP they found that it was the valve body gasket, so the people that rebuilt it wrong in the first place are fixing it again, and it has a warranty, so I will have a fresh warranted tranny, and I only plan on making a couple passes with the slicks, if I do use them.  Then they tried to tell me that I should pay to get the tranny rebuilt again because I kept driving it even though I knew it was wrong. (and I drove it about 100 miles tops plus the 70 mile trip to the other tranny shop)    My street tires are sticky as hell, which is partly how i broke the tranny.  It still doesn't take much to break them loose but they are about 20 times better than the RSA's I had on there. (I should've got pics of the patches I left from a standstill with a 3k brake torque, they were about 45ft. long)  If I run 13's on street tires, I likely won't use the slicks.  If I'm having problems breaking into the 13's on street tires (doubtful), then I will throw the slicks on and hopefully dip into the mid 13's.  It pulls on my moms modded SSEi (3.4 pulley, 1.9 rockers, K&N, custom DHP, drilled 180 t-stat, colder plugs, ud wp pulley), which is a high 13 second car, so I know its very capable.
