Post by: Air TGP on January 20, 2005, 02:23:57 PM
my car is buring oil when it idels, has any body had the seals in the turbo go out? cause my intake is clean, no oil going in the throtle body and i just did the head gasket so i know the engine and pistion rings are good, i think oil is coming out of the exhaust side of the turbo,

has any body else had this happen to them?

change the oil return line and that will stop the smoking.. the rubber hose that runs from the bottom of the turbo back to the oil pan will eventually break down and collapse, and that oil has to go somewhere, usually out the exhaust.  Contact Jim W (idbeast) on this board if you can't get a good quality hose.  Hydraulic hose is what you need.  I got some from a local Diesel truck repair shop and it works great.

Here's a thread with instructions.
