Title: Would it do any good...
Post by: GutlessSupreme on March 20, 2005, 03:07:05 PM
to replace the stock IC fan with, say, a primary off an n/a 3.1 or a 3.4?

My IC fan has play out the wazoo, and looks like it's going to fall apart any second. Since I plan on replacing it, I'm just wondering if putting a better fan in front it of it (which I assume most would be better.. the stocker looks flimsy and weak as hell) could help the intercooler out any, hooked up to a manual switch.

quick Q while we're on the subject.. when does the stock fan come on, anyawy?

The stock IC/AC-Condenser fan is pretty good...but for the money to replace with GM original parts a higher CFM fan might do some good. Only thing is that you need to program your chip to turn on much sooner than what the stock MEMCal calls for to do any good anyway... 8)

The Grand National guys use the electrical fans from a Dodge Intrepid.

They say they are as powerful as the aftermarket fans available from RamChargers, but a lot cheaper.
