Would it be possible to change the front bumper of my 93 GTP to a TGP's.....the body styles are really similar and ive ben wanting to get a different front bumper for my car??
underneath the bumper its all the same so it will fit........
why would you want to change it??
I want to change it because the front bottom lip was busted off by some kid at my school.....and i just dont really like the front bumper all that much and ive always wanted to change it.
also....where would i be able to most likley be able to find a TGP front bumber...if it is possible.
Only real place you'd be able to find one would be a junkyard.. and even then you'd be really hard pressed (I think the bumper is completely unique to the TGPs?)
Don't forget though, you would also have to swap out the headlights, and the lines of the front bumper won't fit the rest of your car at all.. the rear bumper and side trim has completely different lines.
yeah i kinda figured that with the headlights...but the body style of my 93 GTP is almost exactly the same to the TGP except for the front bumper...unless im seing things.
The sheet metal is identical. The pattern of grooves (or lack thereof) on the bumpers and side cladding is different.
Didn't the change in the ribbing start in 94 when it went to 3 ribs? The 93 should be the same as the TGP except for the quad headlamps.
TGP bumper covers are hard to find btw, unique to the turbo car

O.....yeah i kinda figured it would really hard to find a front bumper lyin around in a junkyard enyway but it will be worth a try.....

Then please say..."If I recall correctly...or IIRC...or I am not sure, but..." The way you said it was like you had matter of fact proof and that it does not fit or match up. That does not help anyone to find what they want. 8)

Chris is right, but it's actually 2 ribs for the 94-96'ers.

I didn't really think of anyone seeing it in any other way, I was referring to the indentions/lines in the body kit molding.

well, are u saying the valence busted off? cause u said the lower bumper busted off, u can orger a valence from a 91-93 and it will work just fine, if thats what u mean, they just bolt on, cause GM knew they were subseptible to breaking off, but if u mean the actual bumper cover broke off, than u could buy a new 91-93 bumper, there still being sold, www.gmpartsdirect.com
yep, the 94-96 GP's had the two rib, smooth style B4U, as the 91-93 has the five ribs, and a bit more boxy. The rear bumper and side panels for TGPs and 91-93 are the same. The front bumper however is different, becase the TGP has the built in foglights by the headlamps, as the 91-93 B4U has the squared lamps. The TGP front bumper is basically like a cross between 91-93 B4U and the 88-90 bumpers :)
no...this piece was directly connected to the front bumper...it wasnt nothing u can bolt up...
