Title: TGP parts
Post by: turby on April 25, 2005, 10:19:54 AM
Gonna be stripping the TGP soon. Won't be a ton of parts but I thought I'd see if anyone needed anything. No engine or turbo/intake parts available.

Car is red. Interior is grey.

One taillight is definately junk. I'll have to look at the other one. I seen a set in the j/y last week that were perfect. It was a 91 or 92 SE with 40,000 miles on it. I already got the heater control from it. Absolutely perfect condition.

I'll let you know.

turby i want the hood/gas door latch assembly w/out cables if it's still working.  I'm having a bitch of a time getting the correct hood latch, so if you will remove it I will take it.  Let me know.

Pretty sure that piece is damn near mint. Remember it's grey. I thought your cars were tan?

I don't think that I will need the grey cover, I need the assembly underneath that cover.  The pieces with the gas door latch handle and the hood latch handle.  I think it's held on by one bolt, into the floor pan, kind of hidden underneath the carpet near the seat.  Two screws take off the cover.  I ordered a handle but it was for the assembly with only the hood latch, not the fuel door.  Too big.  Let me know.

You talk like I've never took one out or put one in... :moon:

There wasn't one in the car when I got it. I found one and put it in.

Do you know if the gauge cluster was accurate?  Speedo/Tach wise.

tach seemed good. Soeedo was dead on up to 30 then it started differing from the HUD. Was about 5 - 7 off at 65 M.P.H. I thing I have another one sitting in the closet if your interested. I'd like to keep the one out of the car. Sentimental value...

Well....I've got something like 4 spare clusters, plus the 2 that are in my cars right now.  The closest one has gotten is the TSTE's, being only 3-4 mph off under 50, and 4-5 mph off above 50.  Do you know if the spare one is at least this close (at this point....that's close enough)?

To be honest, I don't know. I was using it in a non hud car. A 90 GP LE 5-speed. The one that was in the car read double what you were actually doing.  :drinking:

How about this... You pay shipping and I'll send it to you. If you're happy with it we'll work something out. If it's off too much, I'll pay shipping back to me.

*Scratches chin*  Hmmm.....

I appreciate the offer, but I suppose I should ask what you're looking to get for it if I like it before we go through all that.

Did you say you had a couple laying around that you weren't using? I'd trade even up for one if you have an extra. Or I'd like to get $25. Let me know.

Do you have one that works at all? I don't care how accurate it is. It's for display only... What is the mileage on the one you have?

Well yeah, all of them "work", just not very accurate on the speedo and tach.  I'll have to look at the mileages.  Don't remember them all.  You want the lowest one or something?

Lowest would be good. The one in my TGP has 187,xxx miles on it.
